Dermal Micro Needling... Dermaroller...

Client Information Booklet - this is a 0.3mm needle and suitable for home use!

Dermal Micro Needling Dermal Micro Needling or DMN is a safe, effective and affordable treatment for improved cellular health. It is a great alternative to laser, high percentage chemical peels and minor cosmetic surgery. The main principal is to stimulate the body’s own production of collagen. When performed in salon a topical anesthetic is applied followed by the application of a sterile roller made with a series of fine, sharp needles that are rolled over the surface of the skin to create many microscopic channels deep into the dermis. This stimulates your own body to make new collagen, thus increasing the strength and elasticity of the skin. DMN has a firming, lifting and smoothing effect to the skin. The instrument is a sterile roller comprised of a series of fine needles which are used to prick the skin and cause an increase in the production of Collagen and Elastin. By rolling the instrument across the treated area, the body produces its own Collagen, even in peri- and post-menopausal women. As the body is producing its own natural collagen, there is no rejection. Results last as long as the body’s own collagen, 5-10 years or more. Very fine needles are used to stimulate the body’s own production of collagen. This is accomplished by causing a minute injury to the dermis, which results in the start of the wound healing cascade.

The rollers are assembled by hand with the micro-points (200 needles) inserted one-by-one by skilled factory workers using medical grade adhesive. It takes nearly an hour to assemble one individual roller. Following assembly, they are packaged, sealed and sent through gamma sterilization.

Aftercare Advice

• Refrain from physical, sweat inducing activity for 48hrs

• Refrain from over heating the skin (spa, sauna, fires, spicy foods) for 48hrs

• Avoid touching or picking at your skin. Some irritation and itchiness is normal, but this will worsen if you touch your skin too much.

• No chemicals on treatment area for 48hrs (eg: Chlorinated pools etc)

• Avoid all sun and UV exposure (unless extremely well protected)

• Avoid applying irritating skin care products. Any products containing alcohol or glycolic/ salicylic acid will badly irritate skin following a micro-needling treatment. Usual skin care regime can be recommenced after 48hrs

• Avoid or carefully monitor any makeup or cosmetic products you use. Because the skin’s absorption is greatly increased following a treatment, skin care products such as makeup should generally be avoided. At the very least, always check each product with your therapist to ensure it is safe to use on your skin following a treatment.
